ND, MS NUTRITION

NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR

Dr Tonya Loken

Many people ask how I knew I wanted to be a doctor, or more specifically a Naturopathic Doctor. I suppose you could say wrapping my Barbie doll legs with shoelaces and pretending they were broken, was my first attempt at being a doctor.

In all seriousness though, it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis that I met my first naturopathic doctor.

He brought my love for food and science together into a nice little package that helped my body heal.  After that experience I knew that’s how I wanted to practice medicine, as a Naturopathic Doctor and have since founded the SPARK Natural Health practice.

Another component of Naturopathic medicine is Docere, or doctor as teacher. This is one of my favorite parts of being a doctor! I love to teach my patients about their condition, their labs, their physiology, and their health!  You will always leave with more information and knowledge than when you arrived! This is in part because I believe patients should understand why they are sick, what they can do to improve their condition, and how the treatments I recommend will help them get there!

I enjoy working with people who haven’t found answers with conventional medicine, or who are looking for another way to do healthcare!

I have a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Nutrition.  I’m trained in Holistic Pelvic Therapy™, studied at the Institute for Functional Medicine: Gastrointestinal training. I’m also trained in Functional Laboratory Analysis, Advanced Gastrointestinal training and mentorship, and will be a Registered Nurse by Dec 2019.

In my spare time, I love snuggling with my sweet little kiddo.

About-Lisa-Hlavenka-Spark-Natural-Health

Lisa M Hlavenka, PharmD graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy, after serving 10 years active duty Air Force. She is residency trained in both human and veterinary toxicology.

Towards the end of residency training, Lisa discovered a passion for the Integrative Medicine practice model. She has been serving patients and working closely with local healthcare providers as a hormone replacement therapy consultant.

Teaching is also one of her strong interests, and has taught hormone therapy courses locally in the past, as well as some new courses being offered here in clinic this winter.

As well as pharmacy school, residency training and years of on-the-job training, Lisa is completing advanced fellowship training through the “American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine & Metabolic Medical Institute”.

Although frequently serving patients with hormonal needs, a “whole-person” approach is always provided during patient consultations. Personalized care is one of the main goals of therapy. If you feel you’re experiencing men’s or women’s hormone issues, or even common concerns like fatigue or insomnia…talk to your primary care doctor first.

Discuss with your provider if a hormone therapy or Integrative consult would be appropriate.
Then give us a call to schedule an appointment.

Lisa’s personal interests include:  food…yes, she is a “foodie”; reading and spending time with her teenage daughter and 4-year old identical twins.

Hi, I’m Coleen! I was introduced to massage therapy after being diagnosed with cancer in 2013. Through my treatments and recovery I found massage a necessity to help calm, heal, and renew my mind, body, and spirit.

Surgery, chemo, and radiation left me free of cancer, but feeling disconnected and broken. Massage helped to calm me and allowed me to heal the scars of cancer that went unseen by modern medicine.

It was then that I decided to pursue my passion for healing and creating a positive impact on the health of others by becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist and Master Aesthetician.

My goal is to help improve the health and wellness of my clients by providing a welcoming and relaxing experience.

In order to tailor a treatment to the specific needs of each client, it is important to me that I learn as much as I can about my client’s health and health history, before creating a healing plan.
